To use fonts:
Mac: drop fonts in System>fonts folder (OS 7.x – 9.x) or activate with font management tool (Suitcase in OS X 10.2, FontBook in OS X 10.3 – 10.4)
PC: add fonts with Fonts control panel (Win 95 – 2000: PostScript fonts require Adobe Type Manager)
